“To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake you have to stand outside” -Aristotle
Inspired by the living landscapes, animals and seasons of southern Saskatchewan, and based in integral education, eco-psychology, wisdom traditions and the contemplative & expressive arts, this four-week course is intended as a portal to greater intimacy with self, other & the ‘more-than-human’ world. The invitation of the course is to deepen into the magic and medicine of our longest season— to slow down, go within, and experience a sense of resilient aliveness, wonder and quiet joy.
Through readings, discussions, mindfulness and expressive arts exercises out in nature, we’ll explore our innate capacity for presence and connection. We’ll cultivate a felt sense of inter-relationships of inner and outer landscapes, moving away from the idea of a self that is somehow separate from it all.

Gentle yet powerful assisted self-study
Mindfulness-centered somatic counseling
This gently guided one-on-one work focuses on present moment experience and uses mindfulness to uncover how past experiences shape current emotions and behaviours, facilitating healing and self-discovery. Although sessions include talking, emphasis is on an experiential approach, based in the body, which goes beyond words to access that which defines and shapes day-to-day experience. Previously unconscious material comes to conscious awareness to be worked with, transforming the way we experience life.
“Eco” comes from the Greek word oikos, meaning home. Ecology is the study of home, while economics is the management of home. Ecologists attempt to define the conditions and principles that govern life’s ability to flourish through time and change. Societies and our constructs, like economics, must adapt to those fundamentals defined by ecology. The challenge today is to put the “eco” back into economics and every aspect of our lives.”
